Young K. Ju, MA, LMFT

My goal is to create a safe space where we can work together to achieve the positive change you're seeking, all while staying culturally aware and attuned to your unique needs.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, work-related stress, and issues specific to men. I also offer Christian, Bible-based therapy for those seeking to integrate their faith alongside emotional healing.

Additionally, I have a deep understanding of the unique pressures and experiences of first responders, having been one myself. This insight allows me to provide specialized care for professionals in high-stress environments, including first responders, military, medical professionals, and working professionals.

I incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) into my practice, an evidence-based treatment proven to rapidly and effectively address trauma and post-traumatic stress, helping clients experience relief and healing in a short time. EMDR is different from traditional talk-therapy in that it uses bilateral stimulation like eye movements, sound, or touch to help process traumatic memories much more rapidly than talk-therapy.

Currently, I am offering virtual and in-person sessions throughout Washington state.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the process and billing.

What kind of therapy do you do?

My primary therapeutic models are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

For the treatment of trauma, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Do you see couples or families?

At this time, I am only seeing individuals.

For couples or family therapy, I highly recommend considering one of the counselors at New Ground Counseling.

Do you accept my insurance?

Currently, I am In-Network with First Choice Health, Kaiser PPO plans, PacificSource, Providence Health Plan, and the VA/TriWest CCN.

For veterans with VA benefits, I am a TriWest provider through the VA Community Care Network (CCN) for veterans that first go through the VA and request services with a contracted provider. I am Out-Of-Network with TRICARE Prime/Select/For Life.

How do I get reimbursed by insurance company if you're Out-Of-Network?

Those wishing to utilize their insurance should check with their insurance company to see how much they will be reimbursed for an Out-Of-Network provider. I can provide a Superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, sliding scale scholarships are discussed on a case-by-case basis.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

That's not a problem! Please also keep in mind that I set aside and reserve your weekly time. I enforce a 24-hour cancellation policy—unless we can reschedule for another day in the same week, I will charge for missed appointments or late-cancellations.

How do I pay?

Credit, debit, HSA, or FSA cards are accepted forms of payment. All transactions are secure and HIPAA-compliant.

Unfortunately, apps like Venmo, Zelle, and Paypal are not HIPAA-compliant methods of payment and cannot be used.

Are you available in person?

Yes! If you are only interested in meeting in person, I am available in Bellevue, WA through New Ground Counseling. You can schedule on their website or reach out to me directly at young@newgroundcounseling.com

No Surprises Act | Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your healthcare will cost.

As of January 1, 2022, all therapists are required to post this notice. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected cost of any non-emergency medical items or services, including psychotherapy.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a “Good Faith Estimate” in writing at least 1 business day before your medical item or service. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a “Good Faith Estimate” before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your “Good Faith Estimate,” you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your “Good Faith Estimate.” For questions or more information about your right to a “Good Faith Estimate,” visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
